Dakko is an AI virtual-pet companion built around 'a small warm presence in your day.' With a genuine AI conversational brain and persistent memory, it simulates a pet that keeps you company and remembers you, checking in at the right moments via calendar and step sensing. It emphasizes being 'only by your side' over habit-tracking utility. Launched May 2026; free to download.
Background
Dakko is built by Dan Su as an AI-powered virtual-pet companion that brings everyday warmth through a small presence 'only by your side.' It launched on the App Store in May 2026 under Lifestyle and is free to download.
Technology
Per the developer, Dakko uses a real AI conversational engine rather than templated replies and keeps persistent memory; it reads calendar and step data to initiate interaction at the right moments. The underlying model is not publicly disclosed.
Market
It targets individuals who want light, low-effort daily companionship, especially those living alone, via a free-download model.
Best For
People wanting light daily companionship without habit-tracking choresThose living alone who'd like something that remembers themUsers who enjoy anthropomorphic pet interaction and steady bondsAnyone using pet companionship as emotional cushioning
Editorial Note
Dakko turns a 'virtual pet' into a quiet companionship ritual: no check-in nagging, just showing up at the right moments. It suits people who want a small presence that remembers them without task pressure; deep relationship building is not its focus.
Strengths
- + Real AI chat with lasting memory
- + Calendar/step-aware, natural timing
- + Companionship-first, no check-in chores
- + Free and easy to start
Drawbacks
- − Limited public info; model opaque
- − Very small rating sample (early)
- − Light feature set may not satisfy power users
Value Assessment：For users wanting a quiet, low-burden daily companion pet, Dakko is a low-friction entry; those needing strong features or deep roleplay should look elsewhere.
